Represent Reproductive Medicine to the AMA
“Young Physician” needed
The ASRM is a member of the American Medical Association’s House of Delegates. The AMA House meets twice each year to determine the stances of organized medicine on important political, economic, scientific and medical issues. The ASRM currently has a delegate and alternate delegate seated in the AMA House who represent the concerns of reproductive medicine to the broader AMA community. We also have the opportunity to have representation in some of the constituent components of the AMA.
Specifically, we are looking for someone to represent the ASRM in the AMA’s Young Physician Section. The Young Physician section is for physicians who have completed their fellowship or residency training within the last 10 years.
Duties start with attending the meetings of the AMA’s YPS. They meet twice each year, in mid June and early November. Our delegate would generally need to arrive on a Thursday evening and stay through Sunday. There would be some prep time required for each meeting, and ASRM would hope that our delegate’s performance would lead to further involvement both at and between meetings.
Membership in both the ASRM and the AMA is required.
