2013The National Institute for Child Health and Human Development at the NIH seeks a Medical Officer (Obstetrics/Gynecology), for its Pregnancy and Perinatology Branch (PPB), Division of Extramural Research, NICHD (GS-14).

The Branch develops, stimulates, and supports national and international research in basic, translational, and clinical topics and training programs related to pregnancy, preconception care, maternal and neonatal health, fetal development and growth, and fetal and infant well being. In addition, the Branch supports the Global Network for Women's & Children's Health Research, a program committed to improving maternal and infant health outcomes and building health research capacity in resource-limited, low-, and middle-income settings by testing cost-effective and sustainable interventions. The incumbent has broad responsibility for developing and managing programs that address the above areas of scientific focus relevant to the mission of PPB, while drawing on extensive knowledge of obstetrics and gynecology, maternal-fetal medicine, global health issues related to perinatal and neonatal medicine, clinical trial design, and statistics; must possess an M.D. degree and Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Additional desirable qualifications include eligibility for, or Subspecialty Board Certification in, Maternal Fetal Medicine.
